On December 6, in the capital of the Upper Volga Tver, the Yubileiny Sports Palace hosted the K-1 Maximum international professional kickboxing and mixed martial arts tournament.

The organizers of this grand and spectacular show are the President of the Kickboxing Federation of the Tver Region, O.N. Kornilov, Head of the promotion company “Challenger Promotion” P.A. Seryakov and the Russian Kickboxing Federation.

One of the main intrigues of the evening was the battles of the strongest fighters of Russia from Tver Yuri Zaatov and Kirill Vasiliev against the strongest fighters from Europe Ivo CRHAK (Czech Republic) and Florian BARTL (Austria) in the tournament four for the title and belt of the K-1 MAXIMUM Champion. As a result, the title was won by the current champion of Russia among professionals Yuri Zaatov!

The culmination of the evening was the battle for the title of World Champion among professionals in the weight category Light cruiser -84.6 Kg / 186 lbs according to the World Kickboxing Federation WKF. Note that the duel of this level was held in Tver for the first time!

In this fight, the favorite and contender for the title, the reigning World Champion from Germany, Andreas Bastron could not resist the striking power of the Tver fighter Alexander Malafeev, who won a bright and confident victory by knockout in the second round. Recall that Alexander is a member of the Russian national kickboxing team.
